Well~~ I'm tired of seeing every protagonist being adopted by the Takamachi family, people who know a little bit of spatial transfer can just wander into the Time Garden, and a trip to the library can lead to an encounter with the Racer of the Winds and a deep bond, and I'm also tired of seeing works that change the original power division completely. The protagonist is the second son of the Harrowing family (in anime terms, he's called the second son...). I'm not really a koan fanatic, though...
